How Our Competitions Work

Fair, Transparent & Fully Auditable

At Phat Stax Competitions, we're committed to running every competition fairly and transparently. This page explains how our draws work, how winners are selected, and how you can enter for free. All prizes are awarded in accordance with the laws of chance.

01

Types of Competition

We run two main types of competition:

Draw-Based Competitions

A set number of tickets are made available. When the competition closes or sells out, a winner is selected at random. Winners are chosen either through our live draw (streamed on Facebook) or automatically by the RaffleX platform's random number system, which produces verifiably random and auditable results.

Instant Win Competitions

Winning ticket numbers are randomly assigned by the system when the competition is created. As tickets are purchased or claimed through free entry, players are instantly told whether they have won. Instant win prizes are revealed through interactive games such as Spin the Wheel, Scratch Cards, or Slots — these are just fun ways of revealing your result, the outcome is determined the moment your ticket is assigned.

Whether you enter via the paid route or the free entry route, every single entry has an equal chance of winning each available prize.
02

How Winners Are Selected

We use two methods to select winners, depending on the competition:

Live Draws
Streamed live on our Facebook page using a certified physical ball machine or random number generator. Everyone can watch it happen in real time.
Auto Draw
The RaffleX platform automatically selects a winner using a computer process that produces verifiably random and auditable results. The system waits for all payments to clear before drawing.

For instant win competitions, winning ticket numbers are randomly assigned by the system at the point the competition is created — before any tickets are sold. This means the outcome is completely independent of when or how you purchase your ticket.

All results are final once drawn. The method used for each competition is displayed on the competition page.
03

What You Can See Before Entering

We want you to make an informed decision before entering any competition. On every competition page, you can see:

Total Tickets
The maximum number of tickets available for the competition
Tickets Sold
How many tickets have been sold so far (or the percentage sold)
Instant Win Prizes
The number of instant win prizes and how many are still remaining
Draw & Closing Date
When the competition closes and when the draw takes place

This information helps you understand the likelihood of winning before you decide to enter.

04

Free Entry Route

Every Phat Stax competition can be entered for free by post. Details of the free entry route are clearly displayed on every competition page before the point of purchase, via the Free Entry tab.

 How to Enter for Free

Send your entry by first or second class post to:

154 Highcliffe, Spittal, Berwick-Upon-Tweed, Northumberland, England, TD15 2JL

Each entry must be sent separately and include the following on a piece of paper:

  • The name of the competition you want to enter
  • Your full name
  • Your address
  • Your phone number and email address
  • Your answer to the competition question (if applicable)

Your entry must arrive before the competition's closing date. Free entries are entered into the draw with exactly the same chance of winning as paid entries.

Free postal entries for instant win competitions also have an equal chance of winning instant win prizes as paid entries.
05

Prize Fulfilment

Winners are notified promptly and will receive the advertised prize or a reasonable cash alternative. We make the following guarantees:

We will never reduce a prize value because of low ticket sales
We will never change a draw date because of low ticket sales
We will never cancel a competition because of low ticket sales
06

Instant Win Competitions

In addition to our draw-based competitions, we offer instant win competitions where you can win prizes immediately when your ticket is revealed.

  • Free entry works in exactly the same way for instant wins — free entries have an equal chance of winning
  • How the free entry route works for instant wins is clearly explained on each competition page
  • Instant win competitions do not make up the majority of our total live competitions at any given time
07

Charitable Contributions

Where any of our competitions include a charitable contribution (for example, where a percentage of sales or profits is donated to charity), we will clearly outline the following on the relevant competition page:

  • Which charity or cause the contribution supports
  • How the contribution is calculated (e.g. percentage of sales or a fixed amount)
  • How much has been donated and how often

We will never use a charitable contribution as a marketing tool without being fully transparent about the details. Where we use charitable contributions in our promotional activity, we will comply with the Code of Fundraising Practice.

08

Our Commitment to Fairness

Phat Stax Competitions is a signatory of the Voluntary Code of Good Practice for Prize Draw Operators, published by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). We are committed to:

  • Running every competition fairly and transparently
  • Ensuring all entries — paid or free — have an equal chance of winning
  • Providing clear information about each competition before you enter
  • Delivering prizes promptly and as advertised
  • Allowing sufficient time between a competition opening and closing to encourage responsible play
  • Regularly reviewing our processes to maintain the highest standards

The full Code can be viewed at gov.uk.
